terms of service
Last updated: 2026-05-26
1. What this is
These terms govern your use of depart. ("depart", "the app"), an iOS app published by Javed Hoosein (Apple Developer Team 827337QUAV). By installing or using depart, you agree to these terms.
2. License
depart is licensed (not sold) to you for personal, non-commercial use on iOS devices you own or control. You may not reverse-engineer, repackage, redistribute, or sublicense the app.
3. Purchases, depart Pro
depart's core features are free. depart Pro is an optional upgrade, available two ways, both unlocking the same features: a one-time $9.99 lifetime purchase (a non-consumable you own forever), or a $0.99/month subscription (auto-renewing). Prices are in USD, or the regional equivalent via Apple's pricing matrix.
The monthly subscription auto-renews each month at the price shown until you cancel. Manage or cancel anytime in your App Store account settings (Settings, your name, Subscriptions); cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. The one-time lifetime purchase never renews.
What Pro currently unlocks
- Smart departure adjustments. A learning-based buffer that trims itself when you have been arriving early.
- Per-day buffer overrides per destination.
- Weather-aware buffer and prep alerts. depart queries Apple WeatherKit at your destination.
- Trip planner. Transport mode per trip, parking buffer per destination, alternate routes, first-time-destination heuristic.
- Calendar conflict detection and meeting-type smarts. Flag the important meetings and the buffer grows for them.
- Calm mode. Lock the countdown to the sage tone, with no amber escalation.
- Quiet hours. Suppress courtesy reminders during a time window of your choice. The leave-now alert is never suppressed.
- Insights+ analytics. Per-destination on-time rates, day-of-week patterns, lifetime stats.
- History export, in CSV, JSON, and PDF.
- Developer info surface. Build, runtime, trip state, location, flags.
Pro lifetime promise
Any future depart Pro features will be included for existing Pro buyers at no extra cost. depart does not promise specific features or delivery dates. We may add features, remove features, or change features as the app evolves.
Restoring purchases
Pro is owned by your Apple ID, not by the device. You can restore the purchase on any iOS device signed into the same Apple ID using the "restore purchase" link in the Pro sheet inside depart.
Refunds
Refunds are handled by Apple, per Apple's standard policies. We do not process refunds directly. Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.
4. No warranty
depart is provided as-is. Drive-time estimates come from Apple MapKit and are best-effort. depart is not responsible for missed appointments, traffic conditions, route accuracy, or any consequences of relying on its countdown. Always use your own judgment when driving. Do not interact with depart while driving. Use Apple CarPlay, or rely on the live activity, voice, and notifications.
5. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developer's total liability arising out of or related to your use of depart is limited to the amount you paid for depart (which may be zero). The developer is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use depart to harass, threaten, or stalk other people.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract depart's source code.

Plain English where possible. The dense paragraphs above are the bare minimum a sane lawyer would suggest for shipping a $9.99 utility app. depart is a one-developer side project, not a billion-dollar corporation, and these terms reflect that.
